At the APEC Honolulu summit in November 2011Japan announced its participation in negotiations for the TPP (Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement), and this decision created a great stir in the moves on economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region. In this session we will discuss extensively the subsequent impact of the TPP on Northeast Asia, beginning with the Japan–China–ROK FTA, the commencement of negotiations for which has been set for 2012.
